Born in Germany, Brian commenced his training at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Germany moving on to the Akademie des Tanzes in Heidelberg-Mannheim for full time studies obtaining a diploma in dance and completing his major RAD exams achieving honours in Advanced II.
He was then offered an engagement at the Nationaltheater Mannheim. Brian then moved to the Landestheater Coburg followed by the Baadisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, performing the Neo-Classical repertoire of ex Maurice Bejart soloist Germinal Cassado as well as works from Balanchine under Patricia Neary. He then accepted an engagement in Berlin at the Tanztheater der Komischen Oper, dancing in works choreographed by Tom Shilling, Jan Linkens, Mark Bogarts, Birgit Scherzer, and Jochen Ulrich. While based in Berlin, Brian also appeared as a guest dancer at the Metropol Theater Berlin.
Throughout his career, Brian performed in classical and contemporary ballets as well as Musicals, Opera, Operetta, Television and Film. While dancing in Europe he also toured to Luxemburg, the Netherlands, the former Soviet Union and the UK.
Upon relocating to Australia in 1996, Brian joined the Australian Opera Dance Company performing in the Sydney and Melbourne opera seasons, at the Sydney Opera House and the Victorian Arts Centre. During this time he also teamed up with choreographers Rosetta Cook and James Taylor performing their works as part of the Choreographic Competition in Melbourne reaching first and second place.
Brian has been teaching classical and contemporary ballet throughout his dancing career in both Germany as well as Australia. As well as teaching Brian enjoys choreography and has choreographed contemporary and classical solos for students end of year productions and senior students entering Eisteddfods including the prestigious McDonalds City of Sydney, as well as others. In 2012 two of those students reached the semi-finals and one the finals of the competition.
He is currently a freelance dance teacher, teaching both after school and full-time vocational dance students at schools throughout Sydney.
