Matthew Carey

Matthew started dancing at Northern Districts School of Ballet in the Cecchetti method at 6 years old before receiving a dance scholarship to study at SCECGS Redlands in Year 7. He successfully auditioned for the Australian Ballet school in Melbourne at age 14. He studied there for two years before completing his dance education at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
While studying at WAAPA he worked with the West Australian Ballet Company in some of their productions. Upon graduation, he worked with the Royal New Zealand Ballet in their production of Angelina Ballerina’s Big Audition. Following this Matt, went on an audition tour around Europe, accepting a place with Ballet Nice Méditerranée.
He later moved to London and then accepted a role with Tokyo Disneyland to play Peter Pan in their dance production of One Man’s Dream 2, The Magic Lives On.
