Alex began dancing at the age of five in Sydney,Australia at the Ku-ring-gai School of Dance before later training at Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy. At 15, Alex moved to Melbourne to commence full time studies at the Australian Ballet School, attaining the level 4 Award for Excellence in her first year. Several years later, Alex moved back to Sydney to attend the Australian International Ballet Academy before gaining a finishing year position at the Nationale Balletacademie in Amsterdam, Holland.
During this time Alex was fortunate to work with Het Nationale (Dutch National Ballet Company) as an extra in the companies productions of swan lake and nutcracker. Several months later Alex relocated to London, UK and was successful in receiving a contract with English National Ballet. Alex performed in the companies production of Swan Lake in -the-round choreographed by Derek Deane at the Royal Albert Hall. Following this, Alex moved to Lisbon, Portugal where she remained for 3 years as a corps de ballet member with the Companhia Nacional de Bailado.
Alex performed in a number of productions including Cinderella, swan lake, Firebird, Orfeu E Euridice, Sleeping Beauty and the Nutcracker. Alex’s career highlights include performing George Balanchine’s ‘Serenade, Hans Van Manen’s ‘5 Tangoes’ and the iconic Queen of the Wilis. Before joining Melbourne City Ballet this year, Alex peformed with the Australian Ballet during their production of ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ in Sydney.
